Türkiye – Em Plastik Achieves Efficient Waste Management in Its Factory with POLYSTAR Pelletizer
Em Plastik has been in the industry since 2008 and is a well-known plastic bag producer in Türkiye. The company produces a wide range of plastic bags for domestic and export markets, including printed and non-printed market bags, heavy-duty industrial bags, shrink films, stretch films, and many more.
The successful plastic bag producer has aimed to close the circular economy loop in its factory through efficient waste management. After careful research, Em Plastik decided to install POLYSTAR’s Repro-Flex 85 cutter compactor integrated plastic recycling machine. The recycling machine has an 85 mm screw and rated 250 kg/h pellet output, aiming to aid the bag producer in turning its production waste into highly reusable plastic pellets. These recycled pellets will be reused in production according to customers’ demand.
Prompt Installation after Plast Eurasia Exhibition
The Repro-Flex plastic recycling machine was showcased at Plast Eurasia in December 2024. Just after the exhibition, the POLYSTAR team installed the machine at Em Plastik’s factory and made the test runs to ensure everything worked smoothly. During the test runs with LDPE bag waste, Repro-Flex 85 reached 300 kg/h output, exceeding the promised output of 250 kg/h.

Boosting the Circular Economy with Plastic Recycling In-House
In the past, Em Plastik used to have an outsourced service for the recycling of its film and production waste, sending out the plastic waste to the recycling centers and paying a fee per kilogram of recycled pellets. However, considering the amount of waste that occurs due to the high amount of production, recycling by outsourcing method provides lower control on the material and higher costs. Because it requires more space to store the waste batches, additional transportation costs, and the fee to the recycling centers.
On the other hand, recycling the production wastes within the factory increases the control on the recycled pellet recipe, eliminates the cost, and can even create an additional profit when it is implemented correctly. Producers can create a circular economy in their factories and contribute to their ESG goals.
