At Rosupack 2016, Taiwan-based POLYSTAR presented its 3-layer-blown film extrusion machine for the production of three-layer film for eventual high-density polyethylene (HDPE) T-shirt bag conversion.
The new trend of using a three-layer machine for the production of T-shirts and garbage bags is getting more popular and has been replacing the traditional monolayer, according to the company. In addition to reducing the cost of raw material, the three-layer film always gives more resistance and elasticity.
Main Advantages
- Stronger, higher film resistance compared to mono-layer film products with the same thickness;
- Cost saving: Virgin material is applied mainly on the outer (thin) layers which is a relatively small percentage of the film composition;
- Better material mixing with co-extrusion technology to produce higher-quality film.
POLYSTAR can also provide its Repro-Flex recycling machine with the latest cutter-compacting, degassing, filtration, and pelletizing technology. The recycling machine is installed to recover film waste generated from in-house production.
